Hi Paul

Sorry to hear about the difficult period you are going through. It is tough. All I can say is that, you are a most valued person Cool and I look forward to your posts. There are so many things you still enjoy, so give life your best shot.Chin up, have the biopsy and do your best. I will cheer you on Smiler .

Remember that if the Message Bosard appears quiet, you can send private messages to individual members (like me Big Grin ) if you need someone to talk to.

Best wishes

Hi Paul - you well know my thoughts on this question.

I take my hat off to you for having the guts to admit to a problem and then seek help. That's real courage.

Can't help unfortunately with the name of counselling service near to you. Personally, I'd start off by asking the MacMillan people who I guess should be able to steer you in the right direction.

Keep all your friends of the board of how you go on.

I have asked a colleague who is a Macmillan nurse for H&N cancer patients to see what help is available for Paul.

Meanwhile I have asked Paul to try contacting Bradford Cancer Support They are committed to offering a range of practical, social and emotional support, all free of charge to people whose lives have been affected by cancer in the Bradford Metropolitan District of West Yorkshire. I hope they will be able to put him in touch with a similar local organisation.

Best wishes

Bacup may help you Paul if you write to them.
I found this url that takes you to an email page
http://www.cancerbacup.org.uk/home/uk.htm

I'm sorry to hear of your fresh symptoms and can only try to imagine how you are feeling. Low and hopeless by the sound of things. Hope is still important at all times and I urge you to think positive thoughts even though I know how some days are just gloomy ones when a symptom appears.

Discussing options is important and counselling sounds as if you might get some impartial advice where your needs to cope with the new diagnosis both physically and psychologically are put first.

Good luck Paul - you are in my prayers.

Hi

Of ourse i have been rabbitting on for some time about counselling BEFORE treatment there are peoplw who need this desperately so they can make theior own reasoned judgement and i mean reasoned
I fully understand how paul feels and thats why he needs counselling now not after.

lots of people want it out and done straight away no beed for counselling to that extent before but others need to have all the side effects explained to them and need time to think and reason unless its deaths door operation. I think all the c ancer specialists should take this on board and rwalise there are some people when the alternatives are spelled out would prefer not to have firther pain and suffering. all the best paul whatever you decide whatever the result

Hi All
I think that's why group support is so necassary so that people who have made the "journey" can talk to others yet to experience the "road" they will travel :boxedin:
