It may be a bit remorse question but which song sums up your situation?

Mine must be Robbie Williams "I dont want to die but dont want to go on living either"

Hi Paul

I guess at the moment my song must be 'I'm going slightly mad' by Queen......awaiting a biopsy at the moment. I think you should change your song to 'When the Going Gets Tough, the Tough Get Going'............I have read your story and I think you have coped so so well. Your photos look great to me and if people can't understand you they should listen closer.

Good topic...
Mine a Robie Williams song too "I Hope i'm Old Before I Die"
& not in my 20's at the VERY least!
"Well these are strange days we're living in today, C'est la vie I say, I hope I'm old, before I die, I hope I'll live to relive the days gone by, I hope I'm old before I die, Well tonight I'm gonna live for today, So come along for the ride, I hope I'm old before I die!"

Song

My song would have to be have to be 'Without you' by Air Smith. But how's this for a bit of black humour, a friend died recently of breast cancer, aged 46. The funeral party left the cremetorium to the tune of 'Always look on the bright side of life' from The life of Brian!

A favourite of mine is a recent song by Jem called 'Just a Ride'.
quote:
"Just A Ride"

Life, it's ever so strange
It's so full of change
Think that you've worked it out
Then BANG
Right out of the blue
Something happens to you
To throw you off course
And then you

Breakdown
Yeah you breakdown
Well don't you breakdown
Listen to me
Because

It's just a ride, it's just a ride
No need to run, no need to hide
It'll take you round and round
Sometimes you're up
Sometimes you're down
It's just a ride, it's just a ride
Don't be scared
Don't hide your eyes
It may feel so real inside
But don't forget it's just a ride

Truth, we don't wanna hear
It's too much to take
Don't like to feel out of control
So we make our plans
Ten times a day
And when they don't go
Our way we

Breakdown
Yeah we breakdown
Well don't you breakdown
Listen to me
Because

It's just a ride, it's just a ride
No need to run, no need to hide
It'll take you round and round
Sometimes you're up
Sometimes you're down
It's just a ride, it's just a ride
Don't be scared
Don't hide your eyes
It may feel so real inside
But don't forget it's just a ride

Slowly, oh so very slowly
Accept that
There's no getting off
So live it, just gotta go with it
Coz this ride's, never gonna stop

Breakdown
Don't you breakdown
No need to breakdown
No need at all
Because

It's just a ride, it's just a ride
No need to run, no need to hide
It'll take you all around
Sometimes you're up
Sometimes you're down
It's just a ride, it's just a ride
Don't be scared now
Dry your eyes
It may feel so real inside
But don't forget enjoy the ride

Best wishes
Vinod Coffee Cool

Hi Paul,
I have sent you a message and hope you get it.
My favored song that became so after my cancer was detected is " when I die" by No Mercy. Its got some lovely lyrics. Another favorite with me is from the movie Fame - "I will live forever".

So awaiting your reply and meanwhile take care and keep writing.

Hi Gang. Here are the Lyrics to Eye of The Tiger by Survivor.

"Risin' up back on the street
took my time, took my chances
Went the distance, now I'm back on my feet
Just a man and his will to survive

So many times, it happens too fast
You change your passion for glory
Don't lose the grip on the dreams of the past
You must fight just to keep them alive

Chorus:
It's the eye of the tiger, it's the thrill of the fight
Risin' up to the challenge of our rival
And the last known survivor stalks his prey in the night
And he's watching us all with the eye of the tiger

Face to face, out in the heat
Hangin' tough, stayin' hungry
They stack the odds till we take to the street
For we kill with the skill to survive

Chorus

Risin' up, straight to the top
Have the guts, got the glory
Went the distance, now I'm not gonna stop
Just a man and his will to survive

Chorus

The eye of the tiger (repeats out)"

Hope you understand what i mean by the song.

Hi Paul,
A very good & difficult question.

There are a number of songs that one could & should use & ALL the above are fantastic!

But mine has to be: Peter Gabrial & Kate Bush: "Don't Give UP, 'Cos you have FRIENDS!"
I have sent that (as a 45, I have to confess)in the past, to several very good & now Life-Long friends who have needed support & help in some very, very desperate times, (Especially when there was NO one to turn to) & listening to all the words always helped that person realise that they were NOT alone & that "A problem shared, is a problem Halved" Smiler....!!!!
