Hi everyone, tonight's my first night back onto site this week. Monday I was hospitalized with a 103 1/2 temp. Spent week being pumped full of fluids and anitbiotics, then the worst happened.

Feeding tube inserted. It was horrible. I was told I wouldnt' feel it, baloney! The drugs didn't work correctly and I felt most of the entire procedure. Last thing I remembered before drugs did take over was telling Al that it hurt! Then thank goodness, meds kicked in and I was out for most of the day!

It's been a few days and the insertion site still aches. I'm told it's because I was tensing my stomach when the tube was being placed (no kidding, I was awake!!). Anyway, just needed to rant about it! Thanks for listening!

Best Wishes, Cricket

Hi Cricket, hope the Peg feels more comfortable soon. When Brian mentioned to the young Doctor how sore it felt, the young man replied,"Yes its like being stabbed in the Stomach" Duh
It was a lifesaver though. Fran

That sounds bad cricket. Hopefully it will settle down quickly, and it should make life easier in the long run. I never had to have one and by the sound of things I was well lucky. Hagg.

Well, I was not sedated and as I had just had the tracheostomy I could not scream either. It was stabbed bang into my stomach and the doctor actually asked me why I was crying as if it was something normal. I am sure the guy was a sadist.

Hope you feel better soon cricket. I was warned that it felt like being kicked in the stomach by a donkey. No-one mentioned the donkey was wearing stilettos!

Bloody cancer!

Wow, I remember three months ago when I went in for my examination. Had a PEG fitted, went back home the following day. Stopped off for some liquid refreshement and arrived home to fish pie which I had seconds, man from 10pm until about 4am the following day I though I was having a cardiac arrest. All i could do was to wrap myslef in a duvet and stand watching tele. Then I fell asleep and ok the next day.

Maybe this site can help towards people of the unexpected, its an area worth exploring.

Here's to tomorrow, Nigel
