Hi Jeffers,
the stress of it all is pretty phenomenal. The body just begins to shut down. You did the right thing going private. I left things to the NHS and that nearly killed me! The delays were ridiculous - it was my life for god's sake! Get yourself to your GP and get some sleeping tablets. Thet work ok and don't have any side effects (zopiclone). Get some antidepressants too (they take about a month to kick in). The stress of it all(cancer etc) turned me into a zombie - don't expect the NHS to notice either. You have to sort it for yourself. I'm a former teacher and the stress of teaching was nothing compared to the stress of cancer. good luck - Tony K |

Jeffers I think anyone who is interent savvy does wade through pages of internet related medical information. I know 5 years ago that is what I did and by now there must be 100 times more info on the subject. All the knowledge you pick up does enable you to ask some of the correct questions when it happens. Sometimes we know more than the Gp who traets us about 'our problem'. The best info you can pick up is act quickly and get seen by a consultant.
It might be best though if you now stop searching the net over much and wait for a proper diagnosis. Every time you read something 'dire' or a 'cure' when you are stressed your imagination will work overtime. You are correct this is very stressful. It is incredible and unbelievable and very frightening when it happens and you wake at night with the thought running through your head and can't sleep even though you are exhausted. Tony is right get some sleeping pills to help and know we all have spent hours scouring for the cure. |
