Hello dear allies---off to hospital tomorrow for about six weeks. First week will be getting me all vitamined and fed to be in prime form for the stewpot I mean theatre. A few days in intensive care. Back to the wards all being well, and then three or four weeks of recuperation and re-trainng my voice and so on. I am taking so ,many books with me tomorrow that the ward manager will have a fit. Probably I won't read any of them apart from the one by Sydney Norgate saying that laryngectomy is not is not a tragedy.
If you are reading this Krishnan, I will give you all the details before and after the operaton and the voice etc. for your new Laryngectomee Forum when I come back.
Quite honestly, tonight I am feeling shattered.
So many phone calls and visitors and trying not to look a wreck!
I hope all of you have good news and happy times when I visit here again.
Jennifer, I hpe Paul, my fellow larynx-less kindred spirit, is having an easier time. How I wish laptops were allowed in hospital. I have a sneaky feeling that's what my family are clubbing together to buy me for my birthday.
Love to all....Ishbel

Ishbel - like all the others my prayers and thoughts will be with you.

I've entered a reminder for Feb.24 to check how you are!

Incidentally I agree that it's a pity laptops are not allowed, although in a way I can understand why.

Ishbel, Until we meet again, You are in my thoughts, my prayers and my heart...While you are recovering from all this, remember on those days when the world seems so far away. That all of us are praying for you, thinking of you and waiting to hear from you when you feel well enough to come back to us..God Bless You and all those that are there with you. And to all of us on here and all over the world that are going thru this. You will be forever missed until we hear from you again... Always Vicki Lynn

Dear Ishbel...I will be thinking of you and wishing all goes well.

Remember we don't want that dreaded "Quilted Bed Jacket" do we?
