Just wanna wish everyone a happy easter. & to those who are still unable to eat i'll be thinking of you for sure. Christmas sucked big time cuz i couldn't have the turkey, christmas pud or ANYTHING for that matter. So for Easter my Mum has planned an enormous feast (with extra gravey for me!) with all the trimmings. I'm goin to take my time to savour having everyone around. & i'm going to be thankful for getting sone tastebuds back. & i'm going to be thankful for being here! All the bnest to you all! Thank you Michelle for your salutation. This is for me (and others of my Faith) the celebration of salvation and the knowldege that my spirit survives death. Continue to be thankful for what you have Michelle as positiveness is the elixir of contentment. Happiness is a state of mind which we all may experience from time to time regardless of our circumstances, but contentment is a blessing, in my case arising from God's infinite Grace and Love for me and all those I love. Many cannot share what I believe but will have other paths to tread to find their own contentment and I pray they do so. Good News Michelle He Has Risen! Happy Easter and well done, I pray God's blessing on you and all whom you love. Alan

Hi Again Michelle, I so admire your spirit, yes it is gorgeous weather wise even up here in the nether regions of north east of Scotland, long may it last. I had my Larygectomy back in 1995 and (touch wood) I did not suffer some of the dreadful complications that i have read here and on other similar sites, stories to make your soul weep! I went back to work after 3 months and still negotiate contracts for a living, I find most folk accept me for what I am and if necessary make allowances for my speech, I can tire after a while. I ate my first solid meal 7 days after surgery when my barium meal x-ray showed no leaks. My nurses went ape when they found me tucking into a full roast chicken dinner with trimmings as I was supposed to be on a gruel type diet, but I was starving and had no ill effects but chewed thoroughly and drank plenty of water!!!!!!!!! By comparison the man in the opposite bed would not even take fluids by mouth for fear of gagging, he had come back to have his eosophagus stretched and there was no physical impairment just in the mind, which is such a powerful instrument for negative as well as positive thoughts. That man was in weeks prior to my admission and still there on my discharge, his fear real and apparent in his face, I prayed for him. I can even sniff now through my nostrils a knack I discovered after about two and a half years and so recovered my sense of smell I cannot describe how wonderful the experience to smell a flower and a pretty woman's scent again!!!!! We have a lot of living to do and how we choose to live our lives is really down to us. My wife is now disabled by reason of emphysema and I am her carer. I may not live my three score years and ten, I am 59 in July, but the years I do live I will live in awe of the wonders of the earth and with the conviction that there is good in every one of us, and evil shall never triumph because of that. Evil may as in the twin towers and the London bombings have its way occassionally but shall never have its day. We have nothing to fear but fear itself!!! Michelle you are a beacon of light in the wilderness of pain and suffering keep shining for us all to emulate. Fond regards Alan
