Lump in right side of neck... need help :)

i have had a lump in the side of my neck for absolutly ages now..... at first i thought the usual... swalloen lymp node due to colds... infections ect.... but when it is present for longer than 6 months.... im getting a litle worried... im only 19 and surely to young to develop some sort of cancer.... but its not un heard of...

and just latly after a cold.. well about a week later it started to be sore to touch... and when i swallowed.. though only sometimes....

i dont want to be all worked up over nothing but its just odd how long the lump has been present in my neck/side of throat..

any help or advice is most welcome

Let's hope your visit here is not needed after all!

#You should definately see your G.P. about the lump. Try and get an appointment this week.

Even though you're 19 you shouldn't be complacent about your health.
I was 22 when i was diagnosed with cancer last year. My first visible symptom was an enlarged lymph gland in my neck.n
I, however thought it was no big deal! As it didn't hurt or nother me i didn't get it seen to. Silly me!

Cancer never crossed my mind. Even when i had it biopsied i still wasn't worried!

I'm not saying you should start to panick. & it probably is nothing serious.
BUT just because your young it doesn't mean you can't get cancer!

Get it checked and let us know how you get on.

i think i will.. better to be safe... im sure it is nothing to worry about.

my mum did have thyroid cancer a while back... many years... ill book an appoitment and when i get any news ill keep this post updated.
