Whilst browsing in my local library I read an article which claimed that in UK 70% of cancer research funding was expended on breast cancer. Frankly I just cannot beleive that. Does anybody have access to to the figures which give the true allocations, or suggestions where I might look?

Hi Pikeman Dont doubt the figures thats where the bulk of the money goes ironical when prostarte colon and bowel cancer plus oral cancer kill as many people as breast cancer and if they are so call ed curing it lies dammed lies and stats thats why lots of people have said dont give to cancer research uyou hear of a new drugh then boof its gone whenit comes to reliance rely on yourself its the only way " Nature doesen't care abouit us "

Well, thanks for that Biltzbob. If, indeed, that figure is true perhaps it explains the truly impressive advances in detection, treatment and survival rates for breast cancer sufferers. However, it would seem to be disproportionate given the multiplicity of cancers. What about lung cancer? I seems to be totally reliant on getting people to stop smoking. I can't dispute that priority. But what about treament, early detection etc.? I really must be missing something on this subject.
