Last night I had a dream that I was eating a packet of Walkers cheese and onion crisps - then I woke up to reality of yogurt and custard lol But I felt like this was a sign so I brought a packet today and polished of half the pack in 1 go - a very big acheivement for me as I eat very little.

Thay tasted so good and I am glad I pushed the bounderies!

Hi Chloe, it's always good to push the boundaries a bit. I love crisps, my favourite junk food but I can only eat certain types. Some make my mouth hurt but Walkers are ok. Cheese and onion are the best for sure. Hagg.

I'm guessing your "crisps" are what we call "potato chips". Sounds yummy. I've been managing to nibble down some granola snack bars lately (washed down with copious amounts of water). Nice to actually chew on something rather than just drink it.

Hi! Chloe,
I have tried Smith Crisps over here and they were always a weekness of mine post cancer and I have tried them since (with liquid of some sort)and found them rather delicious even though my taste buds aren't fully restored, however they do stick in my throat after a while.
Congrats for your achievment.

Today crisps, tomorrow Christmas pudding! Welcome back to the world of solids, Chloe!

My most memorable post-op food was pecan pie during Flappy's first Christmas. I shoveled a piece in and felt like I should have been floating. I told my mom that she can't know how good it tasted.

Howdilly doodilly, survivorinos!

Yes I agree it is wonderful to be able to try a potato crisp now and then.

I must add the warning that they can cause mouth ulcers a day or two later. So sorry to put a damper on the joy of the new food discovery, but Vinod advised me to avoid the handcooked kettle crisp type which can cut the mouth inside like mad.

I do have the odd few normal small crisps but still only with water, so if you can manage half a bag and without fluid you are doing really fantastic. I avoid kettle cooked crips as the irritation a day or so later isn't worth it for me.

Christmas pudding with cream would be a lot easier to eat and was one of my earliest treats.

Thats great news. Its so rewarding when you can eat, taste and enjoy something as before treatment. I can manage a few crisps before mouth gets very dry and the crisps begin to clog up inside my mouth, just like with bread.

Yesterday I managed a bacon sandwich with lots of milk, so wonderful! Today I tried a quiche and whoops it had peppers in it! My throat is still sore.

I will keep pushing ahead.

Best regards
