Thank you Liz,

We are not a couple for parties, and it has been along time since Maggie wanted to go out anywhere period, let alone for a celebration, so the day will be quiet and we shall reflect with our family.

A friend once sent me a card on my birthday the message in it was "it takes a long time to grow an old friend".

That is what I feel today: who knows if we shall celebrate our next anniversary together but for as long as we may have together, and whoever remains alone this day. it will nonetheless be remembered each year with love, respect and thanksgiving.

We were 20 turning 21 when we met and 24 when we married: we are old friends and I am sad that Maggie has to face a debilitating, disfiguring and painful disease on top of other disabling ailments. I pray that she can bear her suffering with courage, hope and always absent of fear. This prayer I extend to all who suffer not least from cancer all over the world and may the Lord give me the honour to reflect his Grace such that Maggie and all sufferers may be touched by - if not at once able to accept - Christ's infinite, divine love and forgiveness.

Dear Alan,
I truly do not have the words to express how I feel for either Maggie or you. You both are really so full of love and affection, not for just each other but the whole world.

Yes- I agree with you when you say that who knows if you will celebrate the day next year or not but that does not stop you from doing something special for her.

We have a song here in Hindi - which in English translates - life is full of bright sunshine and shadows,which are the ups and downs of our lives. Spend every minute here with ever everything in your heart, as who knows if there will be a tomorrow.

Just care and have a great time today? Tomorrow is another day.
