I would like to offer my sincere and heartfelt condolences to Alan.Over a period of 4 months,Alan was instrumental in helping me through the most difficult time of my life with e-mails,texts and even phone calls,he became a part of Robs journey that i relied on constantly.
Of course during that time i came to "know" Maggie and the rest of Alans family, and although we have never met ,i feel as if i know them all.
Alan never gave me the opportunity to repay that favour, choosing to shoulder the resposibilities of caring for Maggie alone when he discovered she had a poor prognosis when diagnosed with SCC.None of us here have seen much of Alan over the past few months as he has devoted himself to caring for Maggie and his family, but his gracious nature always surfaced when someone here was suffering a crisis,or there was sad news.

It is almost poignant that Maggie lost her struggle on the same day as Robin did exactly one year ago, although i know Alans unshakeable faith will give him strength and comfort at this very sad time.I would like to say that this forum has been a poorer place without you Alan and i for one will be thinking of you and your family as you mourn the passing of your lifelong partner.

Hello Liz,

Thank you seems such an inadequate expression just now, but THANK YOU for these words which give me so much comfort.

It will take a wee while but I shall be back and give Maggie's story which like Robin's is a testament of the suffering the human frame can bear with dignity and honour but in the interim it is good to know that you and my other friends here offer such caring compassion,

Alan

Hello Alan,
I know there's nothing to be said that can make you feel any better right now. But my thoughts are with you and your family.
You are an amazing man and Maggie was lucky to have you by her side.
I hope Maggies passing was peaceful.
My love to you,
Michelle

hello my friends,

Maggie slipped away peacefully in her sleep she was not frightened of her mortality in the end and appreciated the prayers and concern showed for her from all over the world and the care expressed by perfect strangers: she was humbled by such expressions of free love and true compassion for the suffering of indivduals with no hidden agenda and caring less of her faults.

While we share this globe with the likes of you we need not worry that we shall find divine love in the next dimension and absolute forgiveness for what we are truly repentent of.

Thank you one and all, thank you so much for just listening and caring.

Alan

Dear Alan,

Is is with deepest sadness that I write to you and to offer condolences. I have not been around for a little while, but you were there for me after the passing of my husband at 36yrs old and then my cousin 33yrs. You offered up so much strength and courage and also guidance.I would like to be able to offer the same to you.
