Certain dates really stick in my mind now since I started this little voyage into the twilight zone this year.Feb.22 my 47th birthday and I spent the day in ENT office being told basically they would have to cut me up and put me back together again. Happy Birthday. Feb.28 my Mother died never really knowing what was happening to me. Thank god she was spared that.March 2 into the hospital to have my feeding tube and trach put in. March 17 my 22 hours of surgery. The next 13 days in ICU which I remember none of. Just what my husband has told me. Out of ICU back in my right mind. PT for my leg and learning to feed myself.April14 free at last and at home with my husband and my cat buddy.June5 to July 24 radiation treatments. Oh what fun that was. Sept.5 trach out and healing nicely. Feeding tube still in working on swallowing. Sept.15 today our 18th wedding anniversary. Not the same woman he married but he still loves me. Makes all I have been through and will have to go through worth it. I feel lucky believe it or not. peace all.

You seem to have taken much of this in your stride Annabel Lee, despite the rotten year you have had. Three years ago I was going through a simarlarly rotten time but have come through smiling....well some of the time. Still feel a little fragile and cautious of life but pretty much back on track I guess. Lets hope we all prosper in the years to come. Don't we deserve it? Good health to all of us.
