Hi i hope you don't mind me mailing on here but I am so frightened. My Mum had breast cancer 4 years ago and a couple of days ago she found another lump but this time in her neck. She went to the GP who didn't like the lump either and she is sending her back to the cancer doctor to have a look - she goes next Tuesday. I am so frightened. What if it is cancer again?

Hi, Gill --
Bless your heart. I share your concerns and understand what you're feeling is totally natural. My mother (87 with Alzheimers) lives with us and was diagnosed with throat cancer yesterday. She sailed beautifully through colon cancer 27 years ago and was so strong -- she demanded that my father and I (only child - 25 at the time) be strong for her and hold the faith that all will be fine. She told us that we didn't have the luxury of a pessimisstic thought and just to buck up, if not for ourselves, but for her. Well, now, I have Power of Attorney for her, responsible for making the choice for her future care - have a much different scenario than you do with your mother, so I can only relate with how it does hit ya in the gut.

BUT, you DO need to be strong for your mother - she needs your loving support every step of the way, believing that all is in Divine Order and that we aren't handed more than we can endure.

Do whatever it takes to hold on, learn all you can, ask the doctors how you can help, seek advice and take care of you. There are many wonderful resources out there for all of us dealing with cancer and loving those who are, so make it your new, full time job to do the research to make sure she has the very best of care and know that she will be fine.

I've added you and your Mom to my prayers - would appreciate the same - Best wishes, Gill.

Hello Gill

I am really sorry to hear about your Mum and understand what you are going through. Your mum must be upset, too. Be supportive of one another. Take care of your mother Smiler , she will be feeling devastated too. Do things together and keep her happy and cheerful Cool .

As hard as it may seem, you need to be strong and if you need someone to talk to, just send me a private message. Please keep us posted on how she does.

Best wishes

Vinod :coffee:

Very pleased to hear you had good results Paul.

Have you thought anymore about counselling Paul as we both know these scares seem to pop up every so often?

Hi Paul, It's really great to hear that you are in the clear!!!!!!

Gill, hang in there girl and as hard as it seems, try and keep up your faith.

If everybody could also please pray for my Dad back in South Africa who is really ill and has just had his right leg amputated, I would appreciate it.
