Facial Pain

Hi all just a quick question. My mom has for the last week been suffering with alot of facial pain around her eye and now spreading into her nose. She does also have a cold, so the doctor thinks it could just be sinusitius, however she is worried it could be something else just wondered if anyone had any advice.

Hi Oliver

I've been having sinus pain and pressure lately, too--generally around my left eye. Has your weather been extremely changeable lately? Mine is worse when a cold front is moving through and I've found that OTC sinus headache pills do the trick. If her pain and the weather don't coincide, you probably should take her back to the doctor, especially since she's already had it for a week.

Let us know how this turns out.

Julia

Hello Oliver

Often the pains in the area of the ear and side of face are TMD Myofascial pains which are misdiagnosed. See: Oncologic stress: Its causality in myofascial pain disorder or in temporomandibular disorder . My advice on this can be found here. You may also find past discussions about myofascial pain helpful. Hope that helps.

Best wishes
