I posted this topic in the wrong section and did'nt get an awnser.
I have a small clear sore on my lip that swells up and wont heal. I was wondering what it was and if it's something I should have looked at?
I've had it for a year and a half so I was also wondering about survival probabiliity and life expectancy if it's cancer. I would really appreciate some advise about what to expect if posible. Thanks

Hi,
About a year and half ago I pulled a cigarette out of my mouth when it was dry from drinking the night before. When I pulled it out some of the skin on my lip came of. After that I had a swollen lip for a while which turned into a small clear spot. It has'nt changed in size but it has a wierd taste and sometimes I can suck something out of it.I'm plannig on seeing a dentist soon. I was wondering about what to ask him? Thanks

See your dentist and ask him just what you are worried about - the longstanding ulcer. You need to have it seen to. It is unlikely to be a cancer but chronic non-healing lesions need attention - ask your dentist or doctor to refer you to a maxillofacial surgeon for an opinion.

Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
