Small grain like growth next to uvula

Hello all,
Please help me as you always do for so many people. Really appreciate your forum's effort!

Here is the unknown problem I am facing.
I am 27 yrs old and had no major problems with ENT so far except sore throat & common cold. I have been to my yearly physical and it happened 2 weeks ago. Primary Doctor was examining my throat and he found a tiny (some 3mm) grain sized thing next to my uvula.
It was the same color as the uvula. I have no other lesions or spots around my mouth. Doctor checked for lumps but did not find any.
He recommended seeing a ENT specialist. I met the ENT specialist and he too wasn't sure what it was. He advised me to take a 1 month antibiotic (aciclovir and azithromycin) course for HSV-1. He said a biopsy might be needed but he would consider it only after a month.
I did not have any pain when i went to the doctor. However, I sometimes had some rashes on neck, elbow which only started that week.

Today evening, all of a sudden, I got a blood blister on my inner right cheek. I know it wasn't there even today morning as I was examining my inner mouth carefully everyday. I was trying to press to see if it pains but it didn't. When i pressed harder it oozed few blood drops and left a reddish mark at the site.

I am on the aciclovir and azithromycin antibiotic course now and am very nervous that it might be cancer after seeing the blister.

Please share your thoughts.
Thank you very much!

Hi Kumar

This is going to sound very strange, but do you have any food allergies, or perhaps have a sensitivity to some new food additive? How long have you been on acyclovir and azithromycin?

I am concerned about the blood blister; you might want to call your doctor's service tonight to see if you can be seen tomorrow or if you should go to ER. If you happen to get another blood blister, try not to pop it. Yes, it's tempting and you just want to get rid of it, but the broken skin in your mouth will provide a lovely spot for infection to make its way in.

Please let us know how this turns out.

Julia

Hi Julia,
Thanks for your quick reply...I am not sure if I have food allergies...Usually, caffeine, milk and yeast foods make my stomach upset but I never got rash...I have IBS-D type symptoms for 2 yrs now...

The rash mostly appears on my neck, back, legs, scalp, sometimes on stomach...

This is the first blood blister I have seen and that too in few hours time frame...It wasn't there today morning while I was taking my oral medication of aciclovir and azithromycin.
By the way, its been 7 days since I started the course.

I do not have any fever...I initially had some sore throat kind of symptoms but its gone once I started the anti-biotic course.
I have scheduled an appointment for tomorrow morning with my primary doctor.

Thanks,
Kumar

Hello kumar212

I have yet to see or hear of a mouth cancer presenting with a blood blister.

Hope that helps.

Best wishes

Thanks doc...that relieved me some tension
Is the rash thats appearing on my body as mentioned before likely to be caused by herpes simplex?
The rash isn't staying all the time. It comes and goes for some hours in a day.
Also, are there chances that herpes initiate a growth near uvula?

Thanks & Regards
