i have just sat a read all the post i have put in back in april i was this scared little girl who couldn't think beyond the fact that i was about to lose my mum i don't have cancer but my mum did without the support of you all my mum has had cancer in her mouth for a year in june this year she went through a magor operation to have it removed reading your stories gave me the courage to go on mu is a long way off from being well i found out last night that they are going to teach her to swollow and talk again she is getting physio to strengthen her legs so she can walk out but without you i would still be a shriveled up wreck treating her like a china doll my youngest son i was so proud of him last night he walked up to my mum and gave her a hug goodbye my oldest who has aspergers is a little put off yet he is the one who is full of cuddles for his gran but not while she has been ill like this i have left it as he will come round he is getting there he just scared that all but he does love her but i could never have got where i am today without you it is true what they say you've got it in you to save a life in your case my mums

Liz, what a beautifully worded post. To that we all say """THANK YOU""". For I am sure in all the posts that you have made--you helped some of us along the way. It is nice to hear that you have helped someone in whatever fashion. Hooray for your mum as well. I too am learning the speech & swallow. It is tough, again, but I have to do it. One thing about this disease, once it is cut out, radiated and chemo-ed, if that is even a word, there is still so much that the victim has to do to continue the fight. It never ends it seems. Getting better is within each individual...The pain is never done, the work is never done, we are never done. Thank you Liz, for letting us know that we are doing a great job thru all our pain and suffering....Always, Vicki Lynn
