back 2 yrs ago my dentist of old asked me if i had burned my mouth recently, i said no, why do you ask. his reply was you have this red spot on the roof of your mouth, but i dont believe it is anything to worry about. so i didnt worry about it, even though i have chewed tobacco for 16yrs. but have always lied about it when it came to telling the dentist for the sake of not hearing there preaching. anyways that one spot on the roof of my mouth turned into 2 red patches about dime size and recently i started with a new dentist and i just wanted to see if she would spot anything on her own, well she did, and she said are you aware of the red patch on the roof of your mouth, i said yeh the 2 circles she said theres not 2 circles and so she showed me, and now those 2 circles have formed into 1 that is about the size of my roof of my mouth. with this said, and being the bone head that i am, i am scared i waited too long but the dentists never seem too concerned with it to pressure me into getting this checked out....i know i am stupid. are these spots anything that has any of you concerned or can any body help understand what this could be. thankyou very much
please forgive my run on sentences. thankyou |

Hi Bucket
If you have been chewing tobacco for 16 years and have a red patch in your palate, you should see an oral & maxillofacial surgeon to have a biopsy done to figure out what it is. It may not be cancer, but you need to find out what it is and what treatment is needed. Quit stalling! Do let us know what it is.
