Small lump under my jaw, on the inside.

So, for about a month now I've had this strange lump on the inside of my jaw (cannot be felt or seen inside my mouth, I have to push my fingers in to the left-inside of my jaw, from the bottom) It's hard and movable, I can pull it enough to grasp the entire thing between my fingers, but it stops at the very bottom of my jawbone. I've been busy and stubborn since I hate waiting on the ER/appointments, but I'm getting to the point where I'm kind of worried.

Based on my description, could anyone tell me what this might be? I'm absolutely petrified of getting cancer (hello, hypochondriac) and would definitely like to see if I can worry a little less just from a professional guess.

I realize my description is a bit shoddy, so if I can help by further describing, I'd be glad to. Thanks.

Hi Sir

Are you having any other problems along with this lump, like a broken/infected tooth? Is it hot or sore? That you've had this thing for a month already and, I presume, it's not going away is not good. As helpful as this site is, it's really not the place to get diagnoses, so the best suggestion I can give you is to see a dentist or doctor as soon as you can. It's totally understandable that you're worried--the unknown is almost always scary.

Please let us know how this turns out.

Julia

It's actually rather painless to the touch. However, to confirm your question, it is under a badly broken tooth that's been irritating me on and off lately. It's been suggested as an abcess, but until I can make a visit to a doctor (likely this week) I figured I'd pose a few questions on here to get some opinions.

Thanks again.
