First off, I must admit I'm a hypochondriac, but I've been noticing a few odd mouth symptoms over the last few months that I would value an opinion on.

Firstly, I've had three ulcers which each took about a week to heal, although one of them has not healed completely. It is no longer sore but it has left a very small bump on the inside of my lip where it was.

Secondly, there are some white-ish markings at the back of my mouth, to the right of my uvula. They consists of parallel white-ish 'stripes' with white-ish discolouration around them.

I have also noticed a bump in my lower lip near where it joins my gum. I can only feel this with my tongue, i.e. I can't see it and I can't feel it with my fingers. It also seems to come and go. I have never noticed this before.

Finally, I have another small bump in a similar place on the other side of my mouth, although this feels more like a scratch.

In addition to all of this, I have become aware of lumps in both sides of my neck which I assume are lymph nodes, however I'm fairly sure I've noticed these before even when I'm not ill so I'm not sure whether they are enlarged or not.

I have an dental appointment in a few weeks and will probably ask my dentist about these symptoms, but some comments would be appreciated.

Hey MK73...

Since you are especially worried, call your dentist and see if you can get an earlier appointment. If you must wait out the weeks until your scheduled date... Just remember that there are probably many other explanations for the symptoms you describe than cancer.

I hope you'll post a note after the dental appointment so we'll all know how you're doing.
