Hi, since May I have been feeling these bumps in my mouth. The one is to the right, at the back of my throat. I can feel it with my tongue. I've felt it with my finger (but it makes me heave, as its quite far back), and it feels like a boney bump. I have another one on the left, pretty much in the exact same place towards the back. I think the one on the right is slightly more enlarged than the left. I went to a Dentist about it in May, and he said it was an Enlarged Gland but both the Dentist and Doctor found it hard to find and difficult to diagnose. Today, the bump still feels the same and hasn't enlarged or got smaller since May. I have researched a lot about this, and found something called the Hamulus which seems to be in the location I am finding the bump. I just want some verification on this, I'm unsure if the Hamulus is like a boney bump. Thanks in advance.

Hi ttugby You said that you've seen a dentist and (I presume) a GP about the lumps in your mouth but not gotten a satisfactory answer. Have you seen an ENT or an oral surgeon about it? Sorry I couldn't give you a better answer, but please let us know how you get on. Julia Howdilly doodilly, survivorinos!

Hello ttugby It is probably a normal structure you have explored and discovered as they are bilateral. The hamulus in the upper jaw and the retromolar pad in the lower jaw are in the area you described. What about posting a photo? Thanks for your reply Dr. I'm not very good at taking photographs, but I did find something on them and I'm not sure if its the lump in question that I have found. See what you make of it: http://img94.imageshack.us/img94/7339/dscf0009f.jpg http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/4910/dscf0008ii.jpg

Just to add: I've found some other stuff in my mouth. I have been feeling spots underneath my tongue, they're soft and small and all in one area. I've also noticed, when I looked at the other side of my tongue that there is a big blue area there (Varicose Veins?) and a few pimples like the ones on the top end of my tongue. I'm starting to get really nervous now, so I've arranged an appointment but its not for two weeks Hope you can get back to me soon.

Hello ttugby I didn't notice anything abnormal in the photos but you should ask your doctor/dentist about any specific area in your mouth that bothers you. Let us know how you get on.
