Hi Hope some one can help.
I have just purchased a Therabite for treating Trismus (problem opening mouth after R/T). Having read the manual I am not that clear on certain parts of the manual such as measuring laterial movements, range setting etc. It does say in the manual that the device should be setup by a clinician, however no one in my area has used or is even familiar with the Threabite. Any suggestions would be great help ( I don't want to make things worse than they are). Tony This message has been edited. Last edited by: Dr Vinod K Joshi, |

Hello Tony
The Therabite is just a device to help you stretch the jaw muscles by applying a controlled force evenly over the teeth. You just start from a comfortable mouth opening and work your way towards increasing it. Nothing to set up! You will find the advice given here helpful. Two exercise protocols (7-7-7 and 5-5-30) are described there. I would advice using the first protocol. Hi Amandajayne
I got it from Platon Medical (see dr Joshi posting for details). They are really efficient it arrived the next day. I have been using it for a few week's now and have definitely noticed an improvement - so well worth the investment. If you have any problems setting it up get back to me. Tony |
