Having finished radio/chemo for Ca Larynx Dec 2004 I have just had a routine chest x-ray, followed by a CT scan which has revealed I now have the cancer in my lungs, diffuse mets. I am going to be offered chemo but understand that it is often ineffective against lung cancer. Has anyone else suffered the same problem as me? I would love some more info from another source rather than just my Oncologist!
I am due to see her on Monday but would like more info before then if possible.
Thanks
Sue

Hello Sue

Your oncologist will have the answers to the qustions you have. Chemotherapy can help and no two cases are the same. So chin up, smile and do your best. Good luck.

Best wishes

Thanks all for your support and good wishes, I will keep you informed of any 'progress'. Trying to smile and keep chin up but finding it very hard at the moment. The situation does not look good at the moment, chemo seems to be a shot in the dark! There seem to be no promises at this point.
How do you know a good oncologist from a bad one??? Bomb Frowner

Dear Sue
i am so sorry to hear your news - it seems so unfair, but life isn't fair is it? I know how hard it is to get a knock like this - I am still coming to terms with having an aggressive form of breast cancer on top of the mouth cancer - and there is always the thought in the back of my mind that the routine check ups will find something else. You must be feeling low at the moment, but don't lose hope. You always sound so positive in your posts and I have found them helpful and encouraging. My thoughts are with you as you go through the meeting today and I will pray for you. Love, Maggie
