Hi 10 months ago I visited my doctor with a sore tounge ( at the back on my left).
He told me he couldnt see anything and i have lived with this slight sensation on and off until 2 months ago, my saliva gland under my tounge swelled (on my left again) and my doc gave me 2 courses of antibiotics and now the gland has calmed down but my tounge is hurting more than ever and when i eat it hurts in my throat on the same side and in my ear on and off.My doctor has reffered me to an ENT yet says he feels im ok and it is not an emergancy !
I have told my doctor under my tounge is hurting like mad right at the back but you have to lift up my toung to see it ....he hasnt done that. There appears to be a slight puffyness there and when i press it i feel this is the point of all my pain. Could it be just a gland ? I am concerned it could be something else.I get a pulling sensation if i talk,swallow or yawn and things seem to be getting worse. I am 37 years old and i dont drink or smoke.

SOUNDS LIKE AN INFECTION OF SOME SORT...MAYBE YOU HAVE AN INFLAMED TASTE BUD OR SALIVARY GLAND...

I WOULD RECOMMEND CALLING THE ENT AND SEEING IF THEY CAN CALL YOU FOR A CANCELATION...THAT IS WHAT I DO WHEN I NEED TO BE SEEN BY A SPECIFIC DOCTOR...I ALWAYS TELL THEM TO PLEASE CALL IF SOMEONE CANCELS...AND IF THEY HAVE A POLICY THAT THEY DONT CALL, I ALWAYS ASK IF IT IS OK IF I CALL TO SEE IF THEY HAVE HAD A CANCELLATION FOR THAT DAY OR THE NEXT...

THAT WAY MAYBE YOU CAN GET IN TO SEE THE DOCTOR SOONER THAN YOU WOULD BY WAITING FOR YOUR REGULAR APPT...
