red dot on tongue that hurts!!!!!!!Go ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
i dont know if I am posting this in the right place but I have a small red dot on my tongue, kind of looks like its the taste bud and it hurts a lot. It almost looks like a blood blister. Its on the top of my tongue but to the side. A week ago it started out that the whole side of my tongue (where my molars are) was irritated but has since gone down, and all thats left is this little red dot that almost pinches when I touch it. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Hi Yank It's very difficult to give a good answer, especially as I'm not a doctor or can even see your problem. My best suggestion is that if you are really concerned to go to a dentist or doctor and show them the problem and get their opinon Good luck - Pete

it kind of sounds like an inverted taste bud, they can hurt like hell, how long has it been there? I agree with the other poster,go see someone if you are worried about so you can find out.

I have had a similar problem for the past three days. It has never happened before. I thought it would go away after taking some vitamin B-12. But it didn't. The size of the red dots are similar to the taste buds but they stick out of the tongue surface more than normal taste buds. It makes eating very painful. Would appreciate any information on the possible treatment during the weekend. If I don't get better I will see doc first thing next week. Thanks!

I'm not a doctor, but i used to use my tongue to screw around with a cavity before, and I dunno, it gave me something to do, but it always gave me these bumps, are you guys sure your not doing anything? rubbing on a cavity or broken tooth? that may cause them sometimes. for me they've went from lasting a few days to lasting a few hours.
