Hello!
I think I've had an ulcer before similar to what you describe, but it didn't come back in the same location, and has now been quite some time ago that it appeared. I remember how badly it hurt when touched by salt. I don't think I ever saw a doctor or dentist. It just went away. (I may have had more than one in my life, but nothing for a number of years now.) Anyway, just give your dentist a call and see if he thinks it's something he should examine. (If nothing else, he may give you something to coat it with... which could prevent it from hurting so much until it heals.) I wonder if it could be something viral... or perhaps related to gingivitis? I'd check it out anyway, mostly because it is troublesome and painful. (And, don't even think about cancer so quickly... It is probably something far simpler). Drop us a quick line after you've spoken with your dentist. I'll be looking for your post. Melanie |

Hello Bonnie
It sounds like you are describing a mucous retention cyst that bursts and reforms periodically. It is not a cancer as, by your previous postings, you appear to have had this problem now for quite some time (since before April 2005). Please see you dentist or doctor and ask for a referral to the maxillofacial unit at your local hospital.
