Hi,, not sure what to do..I just found out my Uncle has been diagnosed with some form of throat cancer,, i have no idea how to react to this....I've never had to deal with a serious medical problem before and i have no idea what the severity of throat cancer is....do i need to be as totally freaked out as i feel right now or compared to other cancers is it not really a major thing? Im not trying to be so cold hearted but everyone i ask doesnt want to talk about it,, from what i hear he needs to go through chemotherapy so im assuming its a rather large problem.......so do i need to be prepared for something id rather not think about happening or are the treatments for throat cancer very successfull? what are the risks,, successfull treatment rate? do i need to be prepared for the worste? any input would be greatly appreciated since my family would rather not discuss this with me im hoping someone out there would be able to help with this........ my mind is going crazy with worry and i need information to at least get myself prepared on how i can be of help in some shape or form.... feel free to email any responses u may have to me at lunardolphin@hotmail.com

Hello Ron

Sorry to hear about your uncle. You may find the these posts on throat cancer helpful. This throat cancer patient story is encouraging. The links given in the posts to Nadia are helpful in knowing what to do to help and how to talk about the cancer to other family members who are probably also emotionally confused.

Best wishes
Vinod :coffee:
