Hi all

Dietician instructions to have between 83 and 90 grams of protein a day my weight is 84 k

Finding it hard with the Rt and chemo to achieve this without being totally or nearly totally dependant on milkshake protein drinks bloated all the time
having about 2100 cals per day still losing a little each week but i am fairly active

will see her in 2 weeks

anyone know what happens if you dont hit the protein leves
anyone else expierencing difficulties

You're doing really well, and eating well too. If you aren't quite making the quota that they want, you are getting fairly close.
To answer your question as to what happens if you don't hit your protein levels - you don't get better. About 6 weeks after my treatment ended I found that I couldn't eat at all, and I didn't eat anything for the next few weeks. The only thing I could keep down was a few sips of water. I just ended up in bed, and lost 3 stone. Hardly surprisingly at my first appointment at the hospital, I hadn't healed as well as they had hoped. You need the protein so that your body can rebuild the cells killed off by the radio & chemo, so keep up the good work.

Just finding to hit that ammount of protein is hard im somewere between 50 an 75 average

When Brian was unable to take much, his dietician advised him to add 4 Tablespoons of Marvel dried milk to each pint of full cream milk per day to give him extra Protein. Hope this helps.
