Hi Dr Joshi I was following your postings on lymphoedema. Did I read somewhere on one of the postings that you should leave lymphoedema manual draining treatment for a period of time after finishing treatment for cancer? Or is it Ok to go ahead straight away. Thank you Regards Tony | |||

Tony, Dr. Joshi told me it's usualy best to wait about 6months after treatment before undergoing manual Lymph drainage. Alot of sites i went on said it's best to wait. The lovely lady who gave me complimenmtary massages said as far as she was concerned it was safe if you'd been given the "all clear" as there shouldn't be any cancer cells to spread. I think there is no set rule, it's personal choice. Do you risk it or not? I told her i'd skip the MLD for now, to be safe. It's up to you at the end of the day!
