Does anybody have any info regarding restorative dentistry post chemo/rad. I am over 3 years post treatment and, touch wood, apart from the odd paranoia attack all is good. I had all of my rear teeth removed and what was left is now starting to deteriorate substantially (chipping, staining and mega sensitive)

Is this an NHS issue or will I have to go private. (I don't mind paying if the chances of success are greater.

If private is the best option has anybody (poss Dr Joshi) had any good experiences of practices that specialise.

My mum had tongue cancer and surgery, with flap, and radiation, which affected her teeth badly. They snapped off and had to be removed.

She's now having some dentures made by a very nice man called Dr Joshi !!!

All on our wonderful NHS.

Good Evening Phil,
Talk to the people at the oncology clinic where you were treated, they will point you in the right direction
Keep Smiling

Hello Phil

Speak to oncology and ask for a referral for the treatment. Not all units have a restorative dentist attached to it, but they can refer you for treatment, maybe at a dental hospital.

Best wishes
