tonsil swelling for 1 year

I am a 27 yr old male and I am concerned because my tonsils have been swollen since last May. I have always had bouts with sore throats and my tonsils never returned to normal after a strep infection last May.
I am concerned about tonsil cancer or lymphoma of the tonsil. I began feeling tired in Feb. ( I also have a 6 month old) and grew concererned. I went to the Dr. and they did a CBC, Sed rate, total metabolic panel, lymes, ana, rapid strep.....everything was normal except I did show step bac in my blood. I have since taken z-pack and a round of medrol.
I have no swollen lymph nodes (just tonsils) and this has been ongoing since last may.....any advice is appreciated.

I was still checking for somebody to help with any advice to my tonsil problems, if Dr. Joshi gets a chance to reply I would be very grateful. I have had another bad sore throat since my last post, but no fever with it. The right tonsil still is much larger than the left, but the left tonsil is still also enlarged slightly. Now going on 13 months of swollen tonsils.

Hi Pascal

Sorry I missed your post; it does get a bit hectic if there were many posts on a day or I have been busy at work.

You are best off addressing your questions to an ENT specialist. Tonsils can get enlarged after repeated infections, so size doesn't imply a tonsil cancer! If your tonsils are bothering you, your ENT might suggest removal. Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes

this is for who ever that has ONE TONSIL LARGER THAN THE OTHER

THIS CAN BE A SERIOUSE THING

I HAD THAT SAME PROBLEM FOR AGES

it ended up being a tumor right behind the tonsil which pushed out the tonsil and made it look larger than the other

please go to ur ENT and ask to get a CT SCAN of that area and rule out the fact of Tumor behind tonsil

doctors are not trained for this

they take a swap of the tonsil and give u antibiotics to put it down and it doesnt work

think outside the box!!!!!

for asymetrical tonsils

you could have tumor growing behind the tonsil
mine and 10 other people that I have met all were mis diagnosed for ages for what was a VEGAL SCHWANNOMA
if ur tonsill is enlarging or gets infected only on one side... it is seriouse

1. take a CT SCAN OR MRI of head and neck and make sure it is not a tumor

my left side is paralyzed due to the size of this tumor and I am just a 27 yo never smoked never drank super healthy female

it is just of a simple mis diagnosis

I hope I can help others

Hello left tonsil larger

Thanks for the insight into your personal experience. Very useful to know. Anything abnormal is best investigated.

Best wishes
