Hello beatlelover Do as you dentist advises. See him again and if he is unsure he will refer you for a second opinion even if it is not a cancer. Tongue cancer is not inherited. Let us know how you get on. Best wishes Vinod

As I do not put things off, I called my dentist and he took me in right after I called (cancellation lucky for me). He examined the bump and didn't know exactly what to call it. He said it could of been caused by a puncture from something I ate or a reacation to some fillings I had done a few weeks ago..Just didn't know but didn't think it resembaled the typical signs for cancer. He told me to come back in a week for follow-up and if it's still there will send me to an Oral Surgeon? Should I be worried? I had a Uncle that died from tongue cancer and it all originated with a pimple.
I have something that sounds VERY similar...did you ever figure out what this was? I've been searching the web and have found little to no information except for your post. Any info you could give would be much appreciated.
