:help:
I am a 38 year old female who has recently had a mastectomy with no lymph node involvement. After getting myself """back on track""" I am now worried to find I have a pea sized lump inside my tongue about an inch from the front. The lump is hard and painful when I squeeze it. Otherwise I wouldn't know it was there. Any ideas what it might be. |

Dear Pozz
It is unlikely to be a metastases from the breast cancer or a tongue cancer. It could be any one of several non-malignant swellings (e.g. cyst, fibroma, etc.) Please see your dentist or doctor and ask for a referral to a specialist (maxillfacial oral surgeon) at your nearby hospital. Ask him/her what it is. Only their answer could reassure you. Best wishes Vinod :coffee: Disclaimer: Please see your own dentist/doctor for a proper diagnosis as my words should not, in any circumstances, be taken as dental/medical advice.
