Swollen painful papilla

Hello, I am new here. I am currently traveling the world so seeing a Doc is a bit tough. I have had a sore in the back of my tongue for about two weeks. It is not of an ulcer type or white in color. I have attributed it to a swollen circumvallated papilla, that is tinder and painful, hard to swallow. I have been on antibiotics for about ten days now, could this be associated. I don't drink or smoke. And I am not HIV positive.
The antibiotics are for a sinus infection.

Hello Kellico

Looks like you know what you are doing. Hope the infection at the back of your tongue settles. If it doesn't, please see your doctor. Do let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
