Throat Cancer

Hi All, I’m new

I’m worried (again) that I have throat cancer. For the last 2 weeks I’ve been getting a weird sensation around my Adams apple area - not really painful, more like a tense feeling, like there’s something stuck there. I don’t have a sore throat or anything, though my voice is a little croaky. Does this sound dangerous?

I’m 23 and I’ve been a smoker for 5 years so my fears aren’t exactly groundless!

I don’t really want to go to the Docs, because about 6 months ago I had a sore throat for a long period of time, naturally I thought the same thing - he gave me a 2 second examination and prescribed some mouth wash so I felt daft, it eventually cleared up.

Anyway, assuming I get through this one alive I’ve resolved to give up smoking on Monday - I just spend half my life worrying I’m dying because of it

Hi Jon, giving up smoking has to be a good thing whatever happens. No point smoking if it does your head in.
If you go to the drs and it proves to be nothing to worry about, at least you'll know for sure. Hagg.

13 years and still kicking it. Never give up your fight.
