Hello Im Michele , 37 years old and im new ... And also very concerned about a few things , in the inside of my mouth both inner cheeks are very swollen to the point of almost getting in the way of when I bite down .I began to notice this about 6 weeks ago when it began on one side and then before I knew it,it was on both sides. They are not disclored perhaps a little inflammed redish , I dont have any white patches anywhere. My teeth are in fairly good condition with my last dental check up one year ago.All of my wisdom teeth were romoved when I was a child. Ive been experiencing some strange things, such as neck stiffness, sometimes a metal taste, when I lay down in a certain position of my pillow on my side , it seems like Im pressing down on some type of gland , I experience at times exessive salvia,or tasting something strange(not an infection taste)that makes me cough instantly.when rubbing or pressing in the area of my jaw bone to lower back of the ears.I have been a heavy smoker for many years,I would say two packs a day for at least 15 years. In the past year I have been coughing so hard to the point of vomiting @ times for the cough I did see an ENT doctor , he said it could be my sinuses + he preformed surgery to staighten my diviated nose.I also went to my regualr MD about my cough and he usually see's my throatinflammed and gives me antibiotics + that seems to taper the cough , but doesnt stop it . Im confused as to which direction I should go to seek help . | |||

Hi Michelle You could be pressing on your parotid salivary gland.
