Hi Michael

Most gum swellings are caused by gum disease (irritation and inflammation of the gum by plaque and calculus) and resolve with good hygiene and scaling. Sometimes surgery is necessary. Please arrange to see your dentist for an opinion.

If it is felt necessary, an excision of the swollen gum (biopsy) would remove the excess tissue. This will not only make you comfortable when biting together but also allow the diagnosis to be confirmed by histological examination.

Please see your dentist.

Best wishes

Hi Michael

Your dentist has already advised you to get it seen to :alert: !

Why are you hanging about wasting time :banghead: , making excuses for not getting it seen to? Closing your eyes and avoiding a proper diagnosis will makes matters worse :bomb: , if it is something serious. So, GET IT SEEN TO.

Hope all turns out well. Keep us informed.

Best wishes

Hi all

If Michael can't afford to go see the patholigist, what should he do? Is the situation different for Michael as he is in houston .tx?
