Hello omee There are many symptoms that raise concern for the possibility of a mouth cancer being present. The most common of these is a non-healing ulcer on the tongue, in the floor of mouth or along the inner cheek. Lesions further back at the tonsil or base of tongue or nasopharynx might not be easily visible. As the lesion increases in size, more symptoms can occur. A pain in the ear could be referred pain from the cancers at these sites. Attention should be sought for any sudden unilateral ear pain that persists and a trained professional should evaluate and diagnose the cause of this pain. Hello Omee Please see a maxillofacial surgeon for investigation and diagnosis of your unilateral ear pain with associated cheek swelling. It might be a salivary gland infection or myofascial pain.
