lump in lipGo ![]() | New ![]() | Find ![]() | Notify ![]() | Tools ![]() | Reply ![]()
Hi... yesterday I discovered a lump in my lower lip. I have previously had ulcer type lump that were filled with fluid, however this is not like them. This is actually IN the lip near the corner area and does not seem to be filled with anything.. it feels more like a pimple under the skin, it is flesh colored with a slightly red appearence. When I first found it yesterday it was a little sore, now it does not hurt at ll unless of course I press on it. I am really freaked out about this. Of course my mind goes directly to mouth cancer. I am 31 years old, good health, no family history of cancer, but I do smoke about a 1/2 a pack a day. If anyone can please help me I would really appreciate it. Thank You and God bless!!!!

Hi Jaime I won't nag you about smoking. I have a tendency to get pimples right at the lip line, but this doesn't sound like one of those. Have you seen a doctor about this? It could be the start of a cold sore, or perhaps you've eaten something that irritated the area. Please let us know how this turns out for you. I'm hoping for the best. Hello Jaime It is not possible to make a diagnosis over the Internet. If it doesn't heal by itself within 3 weeks, or grows bigger, please see your doctor or dentist. Let us know how you get on. You shouldn't need a mouth cancer to tell you to stop smoking. I can't think of a single good about smoking , so do try and stop.
