Hello,
I woke up this morning with a pea sized lump on the inside of my toungue. You can't see it with a mirror and it is sore when pressure is applied to my tongue. It feels closer to the bottom of my tongue than the top even though it is inside, I haven't had any problems before with anything similar and I don't smoke or drink. I have read around this area just to check and I understand that it is best to go to a doctor but I don't want to bother them if it is just something silly.
Is it possible that it will just go away on its own?
And is it possible that it is something that was agrivated by an injury (I'm aware this sounds very silly haha but I burnt my tongue last night on the exact spot it is above, and even though it is very definitely inside the tongue I wondered if that could be related?)

Hi Katrina

The best thing to do is to go to the doctor. Wouldn't you much rather go now and find out that it's something relatively minor than to wait and learn that it's quite serious?

Thank you for your reply, I understand that it is important to get to a doctor asap, but at the moment this is not possable (I am at university out of term time and therefore the doctors are not open). I was just hoping that I could be given advice in the mean time in order to figure out what it may be. I'm pretty sure it can't be anything too serious as it literally appeared over night.
