Hard boney lump

Hi

I would be very greatful if someone could help me.

I have recently had half my thyroid removed due to a large adenoma and now currently on 50-75mg of thyroxine.

Since all of this started I have felt a weird sensation in my throat, located around the uvula and had abit more mucus.

It feels like I have something at the very back of my nose and throat and can feel my uvula on my tongue (its what it feels like).

Then I looked in a mirror and it doesn't look weird but I felt with my finger and to just one side of the back of my throat wall (behind left of uvula) there is a hard and slighty pointy boney lump. It isn't very big at all but I am not even sure if its supposed to be there or if it is contributing to the uncomfortable feeling.

I have had lots of cameras down my nose and haven't had ayone say anything about it (haven't mentioned it) but its all started since i had the issue with my thyroid.

The annoying sensation comes from the very back of my nose and uvula.

Just panicking that its cancer or something!

Thank you for your time.

Hello mumof2

It could be that you are feeling the hamular process. Please see your dentist for confirmation. Do let us know what your dentist says.

Best wishes

Hi

Thank you very much for your reply.

I had a look and im not sure what you suggest matches up with what im feeling.

Here is a link so I can describe better.

http://anatomytopics.wordpress...g/nasolacrimal-duct/

Where the uvula is, next to it it shows the back wall of the throat. There is where i feel a boney lump, slightly pointed and just to the left and i think goes up towards the nasal.

From that picture it seems to have a shape that points into the throat. Is that what I could be feeling?

Hi

It is not possible to make a diagnosis over the Internet. Please see your dentist or doctor for a diagnosis.

Hello,

Have you figured out what is going on with your throat? I have the exact same problem and have been freaking out all day trying to figure out what it is. Please help before I go crazy.

Thanks!

Hi hypocondriax

For your peace of mind, please please make an appointment with your family doctor and (if necessary) an ENT. This really is the best and only way to get a diagnosis.

Let us know how this turns out.

Julia
