INNER CHEEK

Hello everyone!!
Three weeks ago i got a big thick patch with red borders on my inner cheek. I went to an oral specialist who checked my mouth and said it was an irritation from something i ate and infected with candida. He gave me meds and it almost went away after 10 days. During the time i was having the treatment something else appeared on my other cheek but not with the same appereance. In one spot the tissue is like it is wrinkled and dryed. It is not the pink flesh like on the other cheek. You can barely see it but i can totally feel it with my tongue. It wasnt there 3 weeks ago when i went to the doctor since he examined my entire mouth very carefully. Anyway i am really scared it is oral cancer. I look at it in the mirror constantly and i think every day the dryed area is extended. Please excuse my English because i am from Europe. I am planning on going to the doctor next week but i cant seem to relax.Thank you very much for listening to me. What do you think?
Good luck to all of you.

Hi Frida

Have you, perhaps, recently bitten your cheek on that side? Maybe a broken tooth? Seeing a doctor really is the only way to find out what the thing is, or isn't. Call your docs as soon as possible to set an appointment, take with you a list of all your questions, and don't go alone if you can help it.

It's not easy, but please try to stop fussing with it. It may seem to be getting bigger, but stress and fear are the equivalent of a magnifying glass to your mind's eye.

It's almost impossible to relax when your mind is racing; the best you can hope for is distraction. I suggest old comedy movies--the dumber the better.

I'm hoping for the best for you.

Julia
