Hello,

I am a 27yo male with some disturbing problems. First, I have been a smoker for 8 years and drink occasionally.

About a month ago I was looking inside of my mouth and noticed a type of """skin tag""" looking thing hanging onto my uvula. It did not hurt and was about the size of a pencil point. It did not show any discoloration from the rest of my mouth so I was not worried. Then, about a week ago I was looking into my mouth again and I noticed a white lump in the rear roof of my mouth near to where my tonsils used to be. It is milky in color and is not painful. Ever since I found it I can feel it when I swallow and it is is annoying. I have been watching it and it has not gotten ang bigger, but I also feel a bit of pressure in my sinuses on that side.

Do I possibly have cancer? What are the likeliness of having these 2 things in my throat and it being nothing? Please, I need advice and please be as forward as possible. I am scheduling a Dr's appointment today, but I need some insight because my nerves are shot.

Thanks,

Brian

Hello Brian

It is always good to be aware of things that don't feel/look normal in your mouth, but you shouldn't get paranoid :yikes: for there are many other explanations other than a mouth cancer (thank goodness) Smiler .

You should always see your doctor or dentist or specialist as appropriate and get a diagnosis. You are already doing that  .

There is however one important thing you can still do - give up smoking! :soapbox:

Do let us know how things turn out.

Best wishes
Vinod :coffee:
