Hi all,
I think I know the answer to this question but feel I have to ask anyway. Almost two weeks ago I woke up with a very hoarse voice. At first I thought it was laryngitis but I had no sniffling or coughing, and no fever. However, my throat feels odd - the classic feeling that it was somehow narrower or that I had to swallow - and my voice is slightly hoarse. I saw my doctor who looked in my mouth and said it looked fine. This afternoon I've found what feels like a lump on the left side of my throat - about mid-way between my chin and my chest. There's nothing similar on the other side. I also believe I can feel something in the middle of my chest, where I assume my throat extends to. I'm going to make an appointment on Monday to see my doctor as soon as I can. I'm 48, male, white, and high-risk, inasmuch as I drink too much, and my oral health isn't good (Mayo website says that's a risk factor). I'm moderately terrified - how scared should I be?

Hi Wif,

From what you have said you need to see doctor and request appointment with consultant or specialist as soon as possible.

Don't delay but until you get checked out properly nobody knows what is wrong.

Let us know how things turn out?

regards
