Ulcer like lump on soft palate

Hi, I'm Sara, 36yrs hoping to chat to someone who may be able to give me some advice. I have an ulcer like lump on the soft palate of my mouth. It is whitish in colour with a hard edge and reddish hole in the middle. It is approx 8mm in size and has been there for a few months. I have been using Oracort but this hasn't helped. The lump can often be sore and often gets itchy around it. I don't think its a 'nasty' sore as from what I've read it sounds like most of the nasty's are on the hard palate or the bottom of the mouth but as an ex smoker I decided to see my doctor who has referred me to an ENT specialist. I am on the public waiting list so I should get to see him within the next 6mths. Does anyone have any advice on what may help in the meantime?

Thanks for your time,
Sara Smiler

Hello Sara

I have had a look at the photo posted but it is not possible to make a diagnosis over the Internet.

No ulcer like lesion or lump should be ignored if it has not resolved/healed within 3 weeks. Please see your dentist or doctor for a proper diagnosis ass soon as possible.

Let us know how you get on.

Best wishes
