Hi there, I hope that someone can help me. About three months ago I got a lump on the base of mouth underneath my tongue. It was red but had a white dot on it. I had it for nearly three weeks. I went to the doc and she said put bonjeli etc on it. It then healed.
I used the bonjeli and mouthwash etc and after nearly two weeks it reappeared again in the same place. This time in the morning it was a lump and by the afternoon it slowly shrunk. I had this for three weeks and saw another doctor at my surgery. The doctor took a swab but the result is normal. The doctor also prescribed a mouth paste but when i went to the chemist they said that it was discontinued. Went back to the doc's to try to sort out something else, but to no avail. Finally after four weeks it subsided.
Four days later my tongue started to become sore and hurt quite badly. My tonque was sore for two days and has recently stopped.
I am quite worried in case i have got mouth cancer. I am going to go to my dentist soon for a check-up. Any advice anyone?

Good Morning Kitgem,
Cancers don't arrive, hang around for a couple of days then go away and come back later . They arrive and stick around getting steadily worse.Having said that you need to sort the problem out so intead of seeing your dentist "soon" see him/her "sooner"
