Hello,
I am a 40 year old female who since the age of 13 smoked on & off (more on) until 3 months ago. I have noticed just above one of my upper front teeth there is an area which is dark red and has now become slightly bumpy. This has been there for a couple of months and is now changing in size and appearance. I have tried to book with my dentist, who I haven't seen for a couple of years (I'm a coward) but I can't get in for another month as he is so busy. I admit I am worried at what it may be. There is no pain at all. I would very much appreciate your advice. Thank you for reading my message. :-) |

Hello Lou
it is not possible to make a diagnosis over he Internet. The red area could be caused by inflammation caused by an infection that is also causing the swelling. If concerned, you can get to see your doctor earlier for reassurance. Let us know how you get on. .....and do stay off!
