If there is a chance of re-occurance will it happen in the mouth or could it return anywhere.
The reason I ask is I have had problem with my left eye for a few weeks now There is a mark on the cornea with a bubble of fluid, no pain or problems and the eye consultant would like to do a scan because of my past history!? (which is not quite a year post treatment to tonsil SCC).
So like the idiot I am I have searched the wide web and now worried I might have cancer of the eye!
Just looking for re-assurance really to calm my nerves

Hello Yvonne

The scan is to exclude spread to the brain, not the eye. This is uncommon. "No pain or problems" is a good sign as a tumour would cause worsening problems. So I would relax as it might just turn out to be a local eye infection that will resolve by itself or need attention from an eye specialist. Meanwhile, rest the eye.

Just a quick note to say I'm hoping everything goes A-okay with the scan and that you'll be back online very soon telling us all is well.

Worrying and checking about recurrences unfortunately seems to become part of a survivor's (and caregiver's) existance... and it's nerve-racking at times... but a fact of life, I suppose, after cancer invades our worlds.

I am to have an MRI of eye orbits, sinus's & brain, as soon as I have any news I will let you know. I am also having diabetes test tomorrow too, feel like I'm falling apart I have had so many ailments since last year and I was someone who was never ill!!
My motto is what will be will be!
