Parotid Tumor Growth Rate

Hi,

Firstly let me apologise for the long winded question.

I believe I may have a Parotid tumor. I have had a small hard lump under my ear now for approx 7 years. I saw the doctor about this approx seven years ago and he said it was nothing to worry about. At the time uneducated on possibilities of a Parotid tumor I pursued it no longer.

Anyway seven years on I do not have any symptoms locally and the lump does not really cause me any grief. The size of the tumor has not changed at all in the seven years it has been there from what I can tell.

Due to other problems I have been experiencing lately i.e. abdominal pains, reflux, pain in the back around the ribs I have started to pay more attention to my body. I have noticed around my neck that my cervical nodes on the same side as the original lump are slightly larger than the other side but only about 3-5mm.
I also can feel a very small node above my collar bone on the same side.

My questions is if this original lump was a Parotid tumor would it have increased in size? and secondly if it was a tumor and metastasised to other places would it have done so earlier?

Thanks
