Hi!Last Sunday I took some headache pills and felt like one of them got stuck on my throat.I drank some water but nothing.I went to the bathroom to try and see something in the mirror but to my surprise I discovered a pea sized lump on the side of my tongue with a dark line under it that looks like a vein and two more way in the back in both sides of it.It doesn,t hurt but now(2 days later)my throat feels sore.I'm really scared.I'm 34 years old and smoked for 3 years but quit almost 3 years ago.I have an appointment with my dentist in a couple of days but I'm really scared. Here are some pics!

Good Morning Iris,
Lumps in the mouth scare all of us! Even though many of them turn out to minor problems it makes no sense to ignore them. The general advice is "if changes occur in the mouth and do not clear in three weeks see your dentist or doctor"
Please keep the appointment with your dentist (let us know the outcome) he/she may want to wait a couple of weeks but leave that decision to the dentist.
Keep Smiling
John

Hello Iris

It looks like a lingual tonsil (check Google images for this). Let us know what your dentist says.

Best wishes
